I watched "Munich" last night. I feel like I'm way behind the curve–I wanted to see it in theaters, but I never got around to it for some reason. Anyway, I'm glad I saw it. It was definitely a good movie, but very, very heavy.

I checked out Black September and Mossad and all of the related keywords on Wikipedia after I watched it, and learned that it is actually extremely controversial. Of course, anything related to the Israeli/Palestinian conflict is controversial, but apparently a lot of people have called the movie's historical accuracy into account. I'd like to read up on it a bit and learn a little more.

I also found it an interesting commentary on modern terrorism. It seemed to me that the message of the film was that terrorism begets terrorism, and that sounds about right. Of course, that doesn't mean doing nothing when terrorists strike, but as Steven Spielberg says in what I guess is a sort of disclaimer for the film, it means thinking through all of the ramifications of one's response.

It's a scary world we live in, and it's only going to get scarier I suppose.
